This assessment is designed to help accountants evaluate their readiness to deliver modern, high-impact Client Advisory Services (CAS) and determine whether they meet the criteria to be recognized as a TRUE Advisor®.

TRUE ADVIOSR® Certification follows a multi-step path to help you earn your online, verifiable TRUE ADVIOSR® Badge. It takes into account aspects beyond mindset and self-awareness, and considers the layers of practice, evidence, and client impact required to validate your ability to create and deliver effective, transformational advice.

Step 1: True Advisor® Readiness Assessment

Goal: Assess your alignment and awareness across the True Advisor® Framework requirements.

Complete the 32-question TRUE Advisor® Self-Assessment.
Score 128 or above to advance to Phase 2.

Step 2: Evidence Submission (Proof of Advisory-CAS Competencies)

Goal: Confirm you are not just learning, but you are applying the True Advisor® Framework.

Process:

Submit three real-world samples that demonstrate your Advisory-CAS capability:

1. Advisory Deliverable (Redacted)

A past CAS deliverable that helped drive a decision, forecast, or strategy
Can be a dashboard, scenario plan, financial model, or insight memo
Must show business context + insight + outcome orientation

2. Before-and-After Advisory Scenario

Brief narrative format
What the client’s challenge was
What advice was delivered
What changed as a result (decision, confidence, timing, etc.)

3. Advisory Tech Usage Screenshot or Walkthrough

Show how you use tools to deliver scalable, insight-rich advice
Can be anonymized dashboards, workflows, or advisory playbooks

Step 3: Client Feedback Snapshot (Perceived Value)

Goal: Validate advisory effectiveness from the client’s lens.

Collect and submit responses from two clients using this structured template:

Question to ask to your clients:

In one sentence, how would you describe your advisor’s role in your business?

Has their advice directly impacted any key decisions in the past 6 months?
Would you consider this advisor essential to your strategic thinking?
Rate your advisor on the advisory effectiveness (Scale: 1 to 5, with 5 being the most effective)
One example of advice that truly made a difference?

Step 4: Simulation Challenge (Advisory Thinking in Action)

Goal: Demonstrate strategic thinking under ambiguity.

Choose one of three realistic client scenarios and complete the following:

What to Submit:

A written or recorded breakdown of your approach
The advice you would give
How would you deliver it (e.g., meeting, document, dashboard, model)?
How you follow up

Client Scenarios include:

Rapid cost overrun in a manufacturing business
Founder burnout and profit drain in a creative agency
Multi-entity expansion scenario with unclear financial clarity

Step 5: Live Client Makeover

Goal: Prove that you create real-world transformation, not just advice.

You do a Capstone Advisory Sprint (Live Client Makeover/Transformation). Work with one client over 30-60 days using the TRUE Advisor® Framework. Submit a final reflection report (short answers) that includes:

The client’s situation and objective
How did you apply each TRUE Advisor® pillar?
What changed for the client (decision, confidence, results)?
Client quote or testimonial (optional)
What you learned about advisory delivery

Certification Decision

Once all 5 phases are complete, your portfolio is reviewed.

Outcomes:

Certified TRUE Advisor®: Full recognition and digital credential
Not Yet Certified: Feedback and adisory growth plan (resubmission in 30-60 days)

Certified TRUE Advisors® will receive:

Verified credential badge
Certificate of completion
Listing in the TRUE Advisor® Directory (optional)
